PHRASE OF THE WEEK: SUBTLE BLOG CHANGES

Usually when I make changes to the blog (like in the theme, or the subtitle), I make a big public announcement blog post.

Not this time.

After the Foodbuzz Festival in November, where I chatted with fellow bloggers about the direction I wanted my blog to go (and was leaning towards green living), one of them suggested using “food for thought” in the title, since I mentioned that I was writing my thoughts pretty freely, and not necessarily sticking to food anymore.

The change came last week. The latest?

Lisa’s Foods. And (unconventional) food for thought.

I think this one’s going to stick around for a long time.

HI Lisa! I LIKE the by-line! I just did a major change to my blog and it hit the bloggy world yesterday! I hope to have it professionally done in April. In the meantime, I was ready for something bright and colorful!

I like the subtitle, I had noticed the change earlier :) I’ve only had two different ones, the first was “recipes and digest of a home cook” and I changed it to “mom of two. cook for four.” Both reflect the blog theme but are not as cohesive to the name as I’d like. Then there’s the cottage bakery in the background :) Should Cardamom have it’s own blog/website? I have a Facebook page for it, but no standalone website. Can’t afford a domain or a PC to run as the webserver right now. Any thoughts?

Hmm…I think it depends on how much business you’re getting with Cardamom. If you’re getting enough business to pay for a website, then I would give it its own site, mostly so it’s easy to direct people with an html address. Otherwise, just keep sending them to the FB page, or the link on your site.

I think if you choose to have a new tagline for your blog, it’ll come to you. I feel like those are the kinds of things that just work themselves out on their own, and don’t always come up when we’re really trying to think of them.

Hope that helps, Heather!
