2011 was a big one for Lisa’s Foods. In fact, it was huge. Not necessarily in numbers, but in action.
IN 2011, I:
Became a self-hosted blog.
I wanted the freedom to design my own blog, hence the new clean layout to match the clean eating.
Got an iPhone.
Yes, it’s consumerist and a lot more money than my old rinky-dink phone. But having access to adding people to my email list, checking email while on the road, and having iMessage has been invaluable.
Went to two conferences.
Healthy Living Summit in August, and Foodbuzz Festival in November. I met loads of food and healthy living bloggers, got more inspired to keep blogging, and learned about the possibilities of monetizing.
Learned how to use Google Analytics.
Finally, finally. If you aren’t using this yet, you should. Get your accurate stats.
Started the Healthy Disney blog.
Its loyal following is slowly growing, and I absolutely love the community I’ve hooked up with through blogging.
THE TOP TEN POSTS OF 2011:
1. Make Your Own Cereal : Three Ways
My number one post of all time. I love thinking that so many people are making cereal from scratch.
2. Using the Jeff Galloway Run-Walk-Run Method
I’ve used Jeff Galloway’s running program for all of my races – it’s the most realistic one I’ve seen.
3. A Recipe: Simply Stewed Green Tomatoes
A great way to use up those green tomatoes before a frost hits. Savory and delicious.
4. What It’s Like to Work and Live on an Organic Farm
Capturing my internship experience at a magical organic farm in Upstate New York.
My life has pretty much been flipped on its head these last few months, but one day at a time.
6. My Name is Lisa Fine, and I Love Disney
I out myself to the world that I am, indeed, a Disney lover.
7. Pumpkin Foods Around Walt Disney World
On my last trip, my mission was to try every pumpkin food in the parks. I pretty much did.
8. How to Make Homemade Sprouts
Learn how to make crunchy, healthy sprouts at home, safely and cheaply.
9. My Favorite iPhone Apps, Part II
10. Disney Wine and Dine Half Marathon Training: Week 15
Getting this far in training was a huge accomplishment – I never thought I’d run 4 miles, let alone a half.

You actually live on an Organic farm!? Way cool! you go, girl!
Thanks! I don’t live there anymore, but lived on one on and off for two years. It was an incredible experience – I’ll be sharing more about it in 2012.
Thanks for your comment!
2011 was a year of growth. I’ve been blogging for a year and a half now and found a truer “voice” through writing, it also helps get the gears moving in my clunky brain (since I’ve been out of school for ages it seems!). I also started a business at the end of the year which uses my passion for bread as the fuel. Now if only people would buy my bread and cookies here in Austin… I have several marketing ideas burning holes in my head, I forsee a busy 2012.
I love the new home for your blog, very sleek and clean – just like your new tag line! Keep writing and posting, one day maybe we’ll meet at a foodie event
all the best in 2012
Isn’t finding a writing voice one of the biggest challenges of blogging? But I think once you find it, it sticks with you. I hope your business goes well! It sounds wonderful…if I were in Austin I’d definitely check it out.
And thanks for your sweet comments, as always. It’d be great to connect in person one day.
Congratulations on a great year! I love it! It’s amazing how much you’ve grown and changed…you have given this blog a lot of thought and heart and I can’t wait to meet you in Disney! Best regards~Ann
Thanks so much Ann, and as always, thanks for your constant support. All the best for 2012! (And I can’t wait to meet you in Disney too!)
