What My Christmas Looks Like

Since I don’t celebrate Christmas, it looks kinda different from most people’s day…

CHRISTMAS EVE (or in my world, the fifth night of Hanukkah, or, Saturday night)

3:30pm. Head to best friend’s house. Drink tea and eat gingerbread. Watch/help her prep Christmas gifts.

5:30pm. Head to sister’s house. Choose a movie to watch at her place (The Social Network), and pick up Chinese food (Vegetable Chow Fun) to eat while watching the movie.

9:00pm. Get home. Light the Hanukkah candles. Write blog post. Catch up on social media.

11:00pm. Go to sleep.

CHRISTMAS DAY (otherwise known as a lazy Sunday)

7:30am. Wake up without an alarm. It’s early, but I feel refreshed. Social media catch up.

8:30am. Oatmeal and Emergen-C. Foam roll.

9:30am. Go for hour-long walk. Watch people on their lawns playing with new toys.

10:30am. Shower and get dressed. More foam rolling.

11:30am. Parents get home from trip to NYC. Catch up with them.

12:30pm. Lunch: leftover Chinese food.

1:30pm. Write and read blog posts. Drink tea. Read Mockingjay. Hydrate. Relax.

6:00pm. Go out for dinner. Chinese again, of course. It’s tradition.

8:00pm. Watch TV. Drink more tea. Check social media. Foam roll again. Read more.

11:00pm. Go to sleep.

All in all, a good day. Very relaxing, and a good day to catch up on the things I love to do. Tomorrow, I’ll be back into a regular routine. With perhaps some more Chinese food leftovers. ;)

I think the best day, holiday or not, is the one that you enjoy the most ;-) Merry Christmas

It sounds like a lovely day….but what is a foam roll? Happy Haunkkah!

Oh! I’ll have to show you sometime…maybe I’ll make a video. It’s a cylindrical piece of foam that you roll different parts of your body (usually your legs) on to help ease muscle tightness. This is the one I have: http://www.amazon.com/Pro-Tec-Athletics-Roller-4-Inch-12-Inch/dp/B003KVO9VM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1324951656&sr=8-1

A video would be great! Do you know if it works for arthritis?

I’m not sure. From what I’ve read it sounds like it’s best for muscle tightness due to exercise…it’s worth looking into though.

Adding a foam rolling video to my list of blog posts. :)
